Old vs. New

What I won't miss:

The Little Attorney who would lurk. He'd come in the office and just stand around. He used to look at stuff on my desk and had no shame about doing so. Then I just stopped leaving stuff on the desk.

Perfume Pat and her perfume (natch), nail-clipping, loud eating, loud phone voice, and lack of humility

Wanda.

Things I will miss:
Debra and Jane
having ice everyday
a refridgerator
Perfume Pat's candy stash (though I'll probably lose weight now)
Stuff getting done simply because you work in the President's Office

I am looking forward to working in a quieter environment. So far I like the professors. Once I get a handle on things I think I'll do well in this position. And getting to leave at 4 everyday is a great thing.

Explain the "having ice everyday," if you please.

On campus (as with many schools) rooms set aside for the Board members. A woman named Sandra is in charge of keeping those rooms nice and she would have to come over to check in with us every other day. So on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays she would bring over a cooler filled with ice from the cafeteria. So that way any guest visiting with the president would have fresh ice for their drink. I'll miss the ice. Oh and we'd have sodas for a quarter. I'll miss that too.

Excuse me, we'd have "pop" for a quarter. I forgot who my audience was for a second there.

Pop for a quarter is a sweet deal. That was a nice perk of that office. I'm still really glad you're in a quieter place now though. Can you bring in your own pop and snacks and things there?

I am so glad you're outta there.

Yes I can bring in my own 'pop' but there's nowhere to keep it cold.

I know, I'm glad I'm away from the last office.
