Christmas, Texas style
So thanks to an unexpected Christmas bonus, a friend alone in a new house & new city, and oddly cheap flights I'm going to Dallas on Christmas day. I leave here at 7:40 am and get to Dallas at 9:45 am. It's a DIRECT flight! There are maybe 3 direct flights out of Charleston ever so I'm feeling pretty blessed. Dana and I will bake, shop, watch movies, bake more, move furniture and play with her dog Loki. It'll be a nice week even though I'm upsetting my parentals by leaving on Christmas day. Oh well. There will be other Christmases where I'm stuck at home with the dreaded uncle.
This will be a nice gift to myself.

How fun! I just got back from Dallas for work and really enjoyed it...very swanky city, I noticed. You ARE lucky to get a direct flight, that is great!
Have fun! While there, I ate at Tei Tei, a really cool sushi place.
I hope you have a great time in Dallas! It sounds like the perfect way to spend your Christmas vacation. And I still think you and your parents can do something special on Christmas Eve so they won't feel neglected :)
I haven't had sushi in FOREVER! Thanks for the tip :)
I was there once for a conference and loved the downtown area. It'll be cool to see the surrounding area.
And yeah, Christmas Eve is when we go to church and have our big dinner. Since I've grown up the appeal of Christmas morning has dwindled.
Christmas in Texas? Yee-haw!
Direct flights rule! Have a great time and tell Dana Merry Christmas from me.
