They're heeere!

The cadets are back. It's about time. My mornings are now busy with, what we call, outprocessing. Outprocessing is when a knob (aka freshman) rethinks his or her decision to attend a college with military flair. We make them go through a series of steps before getting to leave our rectangular campus, one of which is stopping by the President's Office. My boss, the executive officer of this fine institution, asks them a few questions, signs a paper and they're on their way. One kid was escorted by his mom. It's a good thing he was leaving because I think he would have been picked on for having his mommy with him. Hell, I would have teased him for that.

We made the AP a little while ago with a new program we're teaching the kids. Here's hoping it works. They really need it around here.

Wow, so that many cadets decide this early that they don't want to stay? Is that usual? You'd think if someone applied to the Citadel, they'd know what they were getting into. Interesting.

Are girls still allowed in and if so, are there a lot of them?

You gotta admire girls that go to the Citadel after some of the stories you hear. That's great that it's up over 100. The more people get used to having girls around, the better.
