We could call her Dijon!
We almost added a third to our brood last night. Mom and dad picked up a stray weiner dog. Dad walked her around the neighborhood and rang doorbells to see if she belonged to anyone. No such luck. They decided they needed to take her to the SPCA so they could 'take care of her'. The vet at the SPCA figured she was about a year old even though she weighed in at about 25 pounds. She was a happy and obviously well-fed dog. My mother called to tell me about all this and of course I was squealing at the notion of a new dog in the family. My dad, surprisingly, would have kept her. Mom, not so much. Of course then I regaled my mother with tales of euthanasia, medical experiments, etc. so as not to leave this dear, sweet dog at the SPCA. She didn't buy it. Oh well.

I've never been a huge fan of the weiner dog, but that one pet smart commercial with the weiner dog and his stuffed animal makes me want a weiner dog... but we have reached our limit on animals!
The weiner dog is a miracle of physics with those tiny legs and log bodies. That's too bad you guys had to take her to the SPCA. It sounds like somebody's going to miss her. I hope she's reunited with her owner.
I meant to type "long" bodies, but "log" bodies actually kinda makes sense. Huh.
OMG. I can't believe you didn't tell me about this. There are special weiner dog rescue organizations that would have kept her until she was adopted. I really really hope she doesn't get put down. I might have to be really mad at your mom.
Dachshunds are awesome!!!
