Swoon!
I HAVE A NEW CRUSH!!! And he's age appropriate. He's a smart one too (masters from Stanford, PhD from Vanderbilt). Plus I think he's from California or at least his undergrad was there. He has a fondness for British literature, film, poetry and basketball...all great. BUT, he likes country music! UGH!!! Nobody is perfect, right? He's a professor here. He's not married (at least no ring) so if I like him then he's probably gay, right?

I think you could sway him from the country music...
He might not be gay. A lot of people with PhDs get married later on in life. And if he's new to town, that would explain it, too.
And I agree with Katie that you have the persuasive power to save him from the country music. I still can't believe anybody listens to that stuff.
