Don't get me wrong...

I'm absolutely thrilled that the Giants won last night. My dad's side of the family are all Giants fans. I'm not a huge pro football fan but when asked my favorite teams it's either the Eagles or the Giants. They're pretty equal for me. Equal also is my extreme dislike, actually more like loathing, for the Cowboys and the Raiders. I like the Patriots. I respect the fact that they're a great team. I'm really, really enjoying that the Giants won the Super Bowl but I'm bummed that the Patriots didn't have their perfect season.

Anywhoodle, I'm pretty tired this morning. Thankfully the game didn't go too far past the 10pm mark. Unfortunately I watched something else after and didn't get to sleep until 11:30. Our menu almost worked perfectly. I made fondue and the chocolate got kind of weird after I added the cream and brandy to it. It tasted fine but the consistency changed. I'll have to work on that in the future. I have leftover veggies and dip for lunch today. All in all it was a good evening.

In other news...I hear that the writers strike is almost over. Of course this spring is still ruined but maybe they could start the fall season in August instead of mid to late September. Why does the TV season work like a school season? Do that many people not watch TV in the summer months? 'Cause I gotta tell you. I live in extreme heat in the summer and the last thing I want to do it go out at night when it's still in the high 80s with 100% humidty. I'd much rather stay inside and watch TV. Why not have an actual summer season instead of running a bunch of 'reality' shows and 'encore' presentations of other shows?

That's such a relief about the writers' strike. I really hope they give us some new shows this summer, too. How cool would it be to have 8 more episodes of Lost in June and July?

I don't know if you'll be allowed in our house anymore after that Raiders comment... I'll keep it a secret from Mike!

For the writer's strike, a best case scenario is that there are scripts written but that have not gone through any re-writes yet. A worst case scenario is that a show has shot all the scripts that have been written and would have to wait for new scripts to start coming in. Apparently the latter is, sadly, the case for a lot of shows.

Katie, I made sure to mention my hatred of the Raiders just for you! Hopefully if Mike ever finds out he'll be able to look past that.
