Say your prayers, dirtbag!

When I leave my house in the morning it's still dark out. As I was driving, I noticed something on the right windshield wiper. At first I thought it was a leaf but it had a strange shape. Then I caught a better glimpse of it under a street light. It was a praying mantis that was holding onto my wiper for dear life. I'm guessing this was its version of a roller coaster. So for the better part of my drive this morning, I was trying to figure out what to do with this thing. I didn't want to smear him across my windshield. And I didn't want him crawling back under my hood which is where I'm assuming he came from. He finally moved and went under the wiper so I then used the wipers until he finally flew away.

THERE ARE TOO MANY DANG BUGS DOWN HERE!!!!

We're having a really bad thunderstorm right now. I'm not looking foward to the drive home. Charleston is known for flooding. At least I don't drive a low-rider. I'm thinking the shade in my windshield is a bit useless today. It was sunny when I got here but now it's as dark as night outside. These are the days to be at home, on the couch and either reading a good book or watching game shows.

So you think the rain will cool it down or just make it more humid? I hope that praying mantis finds someplace dry to go today so it doesn't get washed away. I have a soft spot for praying mantises ever since I learned the female bites the head off the male. Heh.

I think that is just a precaution. If certain parts are flooded and you start it, it can do a lot of damage.

Yikes! So how are you supposed to get home today? Or can you start it once you get the water out?

Holy moly man! Will the school help pay for it since they are sl lax about letting you know?
I'm so sorry about your car! I heard SC was getting rain bad again! 5-pts. in Cola flooded the other day too- and everyone was upset b/c they did all that construction to help with flooding. Didn't work.

I never knew what a flash flood was until I lived in SC and 2 seconds after it started raining there were reports of areas flooding. Crazy!

I hope your car is ok and the school pics up some if not all of the bill.

Holy smokes, that's just crazy! I had no idea getting that damage repaired would cost so much money! I hope the school helps with the cost because if you're assigned to park in a certain place, the least they could do is let you know if it's become a lake. Geesh.
