Real southern wedding

It was lovely, it really was. Very classy, very surprising (a bagpiper!), and very fun (wee bit too much to drink).

The bride and groom looked great

We looked great

But, yep, there has to be a but. Please don't get me wrong, I love these people like they were my family. In fact I enjoy being around them much more than most of my actual family. But when I saw this I had to chuckle because I knew I was in the south.

Am I seeing that right? Is that Red Bull and beer in a rusted out old tub??

I suppose the beer was fine, but that tub would have looked better with a string of white lights or perhaps some sparklies attached to the side. Heh.

Ok, ok, I feel as the token southerner that I should point out, that is NOT typical and please don't think southern weddings generally use a bath tub as a cooler! :) I mean, Kenny and I stopped at the Piggly Wiggly after we got married to get champagne and we kept in the hotel refrig, not the tub! Now that's a story I should post on my blog! :)

You're right, I wasn't assuming that tubs get used as coolers at all southern weddings but it did feel like something I'd only see in the south. Does that make more sense? A string of lights would have been cute. Absolutely everything else about the wedding was very classy though.

And Beth, I'm glad you stopped by my blog!

Beth, there isn't anything wrong with stopping by the Pig to get some champagne after your wedding. Pork rinds, yes, but champagne, no ;)

I'll have ya'll know that it was MY idea to use the claw foot tub! Which I think looked kinda neat & different- not typical but definitely unique!
And I would have decorated it more if I hadn't busted my head right after getting it put there. Kinda lost track of what I was doing.

We did have a good time and the bride and groom were very happy!

nope no concussion- but it hurt like heck! After all the business of the day trying to help out and all- that just set me off on an emotional cry. Definitely felt better after getting it out though! :-)
Head was very tender all night- still have a knot on it. I had some of Raymond's specialty with Rhiannon to help me with it! ;-p

I'm still healing from my tumble down the concrete steps- ha!
And a bruise is now appearing on my arm, so I guess I must have hit that too!
