Nothing to blog, nothing to blog

La la la...nothing to blog. Instead I'll share two of my favorite poems by Ms. Dorothy Parker.

Please know that I am doing this from memory! Oooooohhhhhh...Aaaaahhhhhh

Unfortunate Coincidence
By the time you swear you're his,
Shivering and sighing,
And he vows his passion is infinite, undying-
Lady, make a note of this:
One of you is lying.

Inventory
Four be the things I am wiser to know:
Idleness, sorrow, a friend and a foe.

Four be the things I'd been better without:
Love, curiosity, freckles and doubt.

Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content and sufficient champagne.

Three be the things I shall have til I die:
Laughter and hope and a sock in the eye.

I think I've posted these before but I can't remember if they were on this blog or the other one.

I bet Dorothy Parker was fun to hang around with for exactly five minutes. After that, I think she'd start to depress me.

Well she liked to drink so I think she'd be fun at a party. And she seemed to have a biting wit and I dig that. But yeah, outside of a party situation I bet she was kind of a downer.
