I had a decent weekend. I went to see Iron Man and followed that with watching the Kentucky Derby on TV. I was actually pulling for Eight Belles and was SHOCKED at what happened. Poor thing. That was really upsetting.
Summer classes are underway and I'm busier than a one-armed paper hanger. Tomorrow I start carpooling so that'll be cool. I love saving money!
Oh and I watched No Country for Old Men. Great movie but then I really like the Coen Brothers. No bad language at all which was surprising. The violence, on the other hand, was impressive. I actually had to cover my eyes for part of it. The dialogue between the sheriff (Tommy Lee Jones) and his deputy was so great.
Wendell: It's a mess, ain't it, sheriff?
Ed Tom Bell: If it ain't, it'll do till the mess gets here.
Wendell: That's very linear Sheriff.
Ed Tom Bell: Well, age will flatten a man.
Wendell: We goin' in?
Ed Tom Bell: Gun out and up.
Wendell: [Wendell draws his pistol] What about yours?
Ed Tom Bell: I'm hidin' behind you.

I need to see No Country for Old Men. It sounds really good.
That was so sad about Eight Belles! I don't understand why horses have to die when something happens to their legs. Why can't they just lie in bed for 8 weeks and eat bonbons?
It made me want to read the Cormac McCarthy novel on which it is based but then I don't know if the dialogue will be the same. I'd really be interested in hearing what you think of it.
I've never understood why horses legs can't just be fixed. Yeah, so have you heard that PETA is all up in arms over it? They can be so ridiculous.
