Post-Oscar blogging

I had a fun time with mom and my friends Kate and Jenna last night. We did the appropriate amount of "What is she/he wearing?" and "Wow she/he looks so great!" The awards were obnoxious as usual but the salute to comedy was a highlight. I kicked my friends out and retired to my bed around10:45pm. At that point I think they still had a few people to honor and the 'In Memoriam' thing to do in addition to the big awards of the night. This is one of the few nights of the year that I miss living on the west coast. I LOVED being able to watch it at 5pm and have the awards over around 8:30 or 9pm. Plus I liked having sports events on earlier too. Man, I'm old.

I thought Hugh Jackman did a good job! I loved the opening number- though I see many people did not. Your thoughts?

Hugh Jackman is no Billy Crystal but he did a fine job. The opening number was amusing but the musical number saluting the return of the musical was not good. Of course there was no way I was going to like it with the inclusion of Beyonce and the two High School Musical kids.
