I hate Mondays

My new(ish) digital camera is missing. I think it was stolen because I've turned my world (home, office & car) upside down. Apparently there have been issues on campus if people don't lock up their stuff in their desks and I'm pretty sure that's where it was. I'm really bummed about it. For one thing, it's not like I have the money to buy a new one. I'm pretty sure I had downloaded all the pics on my computer so I don't think I'm missing any memories. One of the biggest problems is that I'm really, really beating myself up for not being responsible about it. I can clearly hear my dad's voice in the back of my head.

In other news, we had to unplug machinery in our offices on Thursday because they were changing out a transformer. I had to go around to everyone's offices and unplug their computers. That was a task I would rather not repeat. I have a small fridge under my desk for "six packs of bee...soda" and I remembered to get rid of the stuff that would spoil over the weekend. I forgot to put a towel in there to catch the water from the little freezer that was going to be thawing out. So now it smells under my desk because the water leaked out, onto the carpet and settled under my chair mat. Yum...musty, moldy carpet is quite a lovely smell.

Be Good!

Not much to say lately I guess. The summer is going along as expected. I have an exam tomorrow and really have no idea how generous the professor is going to be with the grading. The good news is that he likes me so maybe that will help.

Oh! I put my hand in my pant pocket this morning and pulled out a folded receipt and a $20 bill inside the receipt. I believe I did a happy dance for a few seconds. I looked at the receipt trying to remember the occasion of getting the $20 but couldn't remember it. Then I noticed the name of the cashier and chuckled a bit. Of course now I can't remember it. The second half of the name had 'tasia' in it. I think it was something like Shantasia but I think it was even better than that. Anyway it made me think of the ET ride at Universal where they ask your name and ET says "Goodbye" to you at the end of the ride (best ride ever, btw). I've been on that ride a number of times and each time would give them an interesting sounding name and each time ET got it right. He's smart because he's not from Earth.
