kinda creepy kinda cool

I got a friend request on Facebook from a girl I met in Nairobi back in 2000. It's amazing how the internet has brought people together.

I'm giving myself a headache

I think I added too much bleach to my laundry because it's now all I can smell. Ugh. It's supposed to be lavender scented. I can tell you that it is not.

Oh, so Jake Gyllenhaal is in SC. Well he's supposed to be in SC. There are production problems so he and Jessica Biel haven't shown up to work in a while. Wait, if J. Biel is here, does that mean Justin Timberlake is too? Columbia hasn't seen this many good looking people since me and my girls were in school there. Ha! {High Five!} I crack myself up.

Anywhoodle, the weekend went as I thought. I avoided school work and watched a lot of movies. Indiana Jones 4 was fun but had a dumb plot. I saw the second installment of the Narnia movies. I believe the full title is "The Chronicles of Narnia: Could Caspian BE Any Hotter?" It was very, very good! Then I went with my cuz to see the Ashton & Cameron formulaic rom/com which was also pretty good. I was 3 for 3 this weekend. That made skipping my scholarly responsibilities well worth it.

"You must be the short, depressed kid we ordered"

There must be something to post about, right? Everything seems so boring with me. I'm not complaining but honestly I can't think of anything to write about. School is a bit overwhelming. Work is fine now but was seriously busy for a while there. Family is fine. I'm not planning anything for the summer thanks to gas prices. I guess I'm just maintaining.

With it being summer it got me thinking of a big regret of mine...not going to camp more as a kid. I went once for a full week and had an AWFUL time. There were fights and drama and all around nuttiness. I went a few times for weekend, church things but at that point it was all about sneaking shots of whiskey out of my re-purposed hairspray bottle. We were crafty.

Can I go home now?

I've had a productive day and it's only 9:20am. I've set up the speed dial buttons on my fax machine and feel as thought I've won some sort of medal because of it. Next I'm going to place an order for office supplies. Watch out! Maybe I'll wait an hour, I need to pace myself with all this productivity.

NO EFFING WAY!!!

THEY FREAKING STOLE MY SHOW!!! Over a year ago I said that MTV should have a show where they send the Super Sweet 16 kids to Africa or to some underdeveloped country. THEY'RE DOING IT!!! It's called Exiled and it's totally my idea. Damn. Damn, damn, damn. I guess it's good that they're doing it but it was my effing idea. Damn.

Thankful for my life

I was caught at the tail end of this last night. I was coming home from class at around 6 and they had just cleared it up. So sad...

Gas prices

I was going through old emails and found a forward that was sent to me in 2005 consisting of these cartoons:

Gas in 2005 was more than a dollar cheaper than it is now. I'm glad I'm carpooling this summer. I really wanted to do a road trip sometime soon but I think my road trip is going to not be out of this state.

I had a decent weekend. I went to see Iron Man and followed that with watching the Kentucky Derby on TV. I was actually pulling for Eight Belles and was SHOCKED at what happened. Poor thing. That was really upsetting.

Summer classes are underway and I'm busier than a one-armed paper hanger. Tomorrow I start carpooling so that'll be cool. I love saving money!

Oh and I watched No Country for Old Men. Great movie but then I really like the Coen Brothers. No bad language at all which was surprising. The violence, on the other hand, was impressive. I actually had to cover my eyes for part of it. The dialogue between the sheriff (Tommy Lee Jones) and his deputy was so great.

Wendell: It's a mess, ain't it, sheriff?
Ed Tom Bell: If it ain't, it'll do till the mess gets here.

Wendell: That's very linear Sheriff.
Ed Tom Bell: Well, age will flatten a man.

Wendell: We goin' in?
Ed Tom Bell: Gun out and up.
Wendell: [Wendell draws his pistol] What about yours?
Ed Tom Bell: I'm hidin' behind you.

Interesting...

I was organizing the office this morning and found a message written to me on the lid of a box of paper. Apparently campus delivery guy claims I'm killing him with all the paper I order. I work in a department full of writers so, yeah, we go through a lot of paper I guess. What's even more interesting about it is that I actually had a dream about campus delivery guy last night. He's a very quiet guy but he seems to be coming out of his shell a bit.
